Elantec Adds Pionetics’ LINX® Technology to its Product Line

Chinese Vendor of Water Treatment Systems Introduces New Product to Top Performing Agents at Annual Sales Conference

BEIJING, CHINA, July 10, 2006—Elantec, a Beijing-based manufacturer and distributor of consumer and industrial water treatment equipment, today introduced the Pionetics eLINX® Drinking Water System to more than 1,400 of its top-performing sales agents at its annual sales conference in Beijing. Elantec, as Pionetics’ joint venture partner, announced plans to distribute the patented electrically regenerated ion exchange water treatment system throughout China.

The sales conference was attended by a number of state dignitaries, industry leaders, top scientists from Tsing Hua University and members of Pionetics management team, including company co-founder and CTO Eric Nyberg, and was recorded by China’s national television network CCTV1.

The eLINX Drinking Water System uses a patented, electrically regenerated ion exchange system to deliver better tasting water more efficiently than traditional reverse osmosis (RO) technology. Rather than requiring the use of harmful chemicals, such as hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide, the eLINX uses electrically powered ion exchange to remove impurities, including perchlorate, nitrites, nitrates, arsenic III and V, and potassium, along with 90 percent of total dissolved solids.

The compact eLINX works well under low water pressure and does not require booster pump. The product is able to deliver at least 10 times the flow rates compared to other systems, which eliminates the need for a bulky under-sink storage tanks that takes up a lot of space and provides a breeding ground for water-borne bacteria. Moreover, the device is the only water treatment system with Dial-A-Taste&trade, which allows users to regulate the level of dissolved minerals in water to vary the taste to their liking.
