Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
about the Pionetics Drinking Water Purification System
Q: Where would I use this product?
A: The Pionetics Drinking Water Purification System is for "point-of-use" drinking water applications in the home. It is probably most commonly installed in kitchens but can be installed and used in any other area of the home where fresh drinking water is desired such as a home bar/recreation room or exercise room.
Q: What is LINX® technology and how does it work?
A: LINX technology is a patented ion exchange process developed by Pionetics using electricity (not harmful chemicals or ineffective filters) to purify water.
Q. How many gradations of taste are available with the Dial-A-Taste™ feature?
A. There are currently five settings, but the technology will allow us to increase the number of settings in the future.
Q. How does the Pionetics system distinguish between taste-enhancing minerals and harmful ones during the filtration process?
A. The system does not distinguish between taste-enhancing minerals and harmful ones, but the Dial-A-Taste™ feature will only operate within safe filtration ranges.
Q. How does the product work?
A. Rather than forcing water through a filter that reduces Total Dissolved Solids (dissolved matter in water like calcium, magnesium, carbonates, etc.), the Pionetics system, through the use of its patented LINX technology, uses electricity and runs water past a special ion exchange membrane filter to efficiently reduce Total Dissolved Solids and harmful contaminants.
Q. Can I install the system myself without professional help?
A. Yes. In fact, it's as easy to install as a typical home reverse osmosis system. The Pionetics system is usually installed under the kitchen sink in the same way as a Reverse Osmosis system, and installation can be completed in about an hour.
Q. Does the product require an electrical hookup?
A. Yes. The system should be plugged into a 110-volt or a 220-volt outlet present underneath most kitchen sinks for dishwashers or garbage disposals.
Q. When will the LINX 120 be available to distributors or consumers?
A. The LINX 120 is available now for evaluation by distributors and will be available to consumers soon.
Q. Where can I purchase a Pionetics system for my home?
A. America's largest distributors of home water purification systems are currently evaluating the system for inclusion in their product lines. Periodically check this Web site for further information on where to purchase a system for your home or office.
Q. Is the Pionetics system available overseas?
A. Yes. The product will soon be available in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Q. Will there be other Pionetics LINX-based products in the future?
A. Because of its high efficiency, Pionetics systems powered by LINX technology can be applied to a variety of applications, including whole-house purification, restaurants, car washes, swimming pools, municipal water treatment, and other industrial uses such as wastewater processing. Pionetics will announce products for these applications as they become available.
